Who is Red Velvet Confections?

Hello, my name is Teresa. I am a born and raised Georgia Peach, lover of Food and how it brings people together, a woman of Faith and die-hard Inspiration sponge. If I had a couple minutes to pitch or describe me and my blog in the “elevator” folks keep talking about, I would likely say something awkward out loud but, in my head, I’d sum it all up like this:

Home Cook.
When I was in high school, I had a home economics teacher who taught me how to bake the cake that would become one of my family’s all-time favorites. Red Velvet Cake is the inspiration for my blog and is one of the many reasons why I still enjoy playing with ingredients and exploring new recipes to try out on my family.

Blogging has been my window to the world of food and people who totally get it or want to. I started RVC to share my personal culinary adventures and it has evolved to include some wonderful dining experiences in and around Atlanta. Red Velvet Confections also ushered me into the social realm of food via my membership with the Atlanta Food Bloggers’ Society, a group which organizes participation in many of these culinary events.

Creative Type.
Outside of the kitchen, I work in the sign industry as an administrator, salesperson, graphic designer and production associate. Yep, all of that. In my spare time, I laugh at my own jokes, find endless ways to make my grandson laugh, spend time crafting or taking photos of randomness and food that looks as good as it tastes!

I wish you could be in the room when Lex laughs. It’s an infectious, soulful, pure burst of joy. You can’t help but ignore whatever you’re doing to stop and investigate the source of such bliss. You’d find that it often happens just for the sake of hearing the sound. That’s right, this two-year-old laughs because... […]
